Prayer Requests
Hull YFC Prayer Letter - May 2010
'Give thanks to the LORD Almighty,
for the LORD is good;
his love endures forever.'
For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before, says the LORD"
Jeremiah 33:11b
Hull Youth for Christ works in the Boulevard area with links across Hull. Please support our work through prayer to see changes in the lives of young people and their families who face many challenging circumstances.
The Work
We have been so blessed to have sustained our income in such financially uncertain times, please join us in thanking God for this and asking his blessing on all our supporters.
The Sunday coming (9th May), we are running a photography trip with some of the girls from Youth Group. Please pray for good weather and safety as well as opportunities to develop deeper relationships with the group.
Two of our young people and one of our volunteers have decided to get baptised this year. Join us in thanking God for this. Please pray for them and us as we put together some material to help prepare them.
Please continue to pray for the work that Anna and Emma have been doing with some of the mums. Following a parenting course that they ran earlier this year, they are attempting to work with a core group of the mums through on-going activities and are also involved in supporting a number of them individually as they cope with difficult family circumstances.
As summer approaches we are finalising the details for camp. Please continue to pray that we will have the right 'mix' of young people and that all who want to go will be able to. Please also pray for the camp leaders who are currently putting together the activities and spiritual programmes as well as organising all the practical elements.
Join us in thanking God for the links that we have with the local school and pray for the team members as they spend time there, supporting the teaching staff.
Please pray for each of the team, for the work that they're involved in and their spiritual wellbeing.
The City
Please pray for Hull as the elections take place across the city at the beginning of May, for wisdom for the voters and wisdom and guidance to all elected that they may have a positive impact on the communities they represent.
Please remember Bransholme and Greatfield - areas of the city where we have worked in the past and continue to have strong links.
Join us in praying for St Matthews Church on the Boulevard as Allen retires, and for him and his wife Sue as they begin a new part of their lives.
